"For a fairly superstitious team that Mumbai Indians can be, a loss to kickstart the UAE leg of IPL 2021 may not have been entirely inauspicious but it has put them in a tricky position on the points table, if not a spot down from fourth.

Especially Rohit, who has remained the chief nemesis of KKR over the years, irrespective of their players, coaches and venues.
The Eoin Morgan-led side, which has won only 1 out of 12 matches against Mumbai Indians in the last five years, will have a stiffer challenge at hand than they did against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday. A convincing 9-wicket win notwithstanding, where the two-time champions chased down the target in a mere 10 overs, KKR still have even more ground to gain in the second half of the league phase in order to make it to the playoffs.
The strategy to tweak their team composition marginally against RCB worked well. For as long as the experiment with two mystery spinners and three pacers who hit the deck hard works for KKR, their batting depth looks strong - especially given the form debutant Venkatesh Iyer displayed. However, quite unlike they've been used to, there isn't ample cushion for their bowlers past the part-time options of Iyer and Nitish Rana.
It will be interesting to see if they continue with this approach against MI - a team that has previously out-planned and out-executed their oppositions - or will they tailor a different XI and spring a surprise." _Crickbuz
